Welcome to my personal portfolio.

Hi and welcome to my personal portfolio. My name is Steven Lange, currently residing in a small town of Southern Oregon named Talent. I'll talk a little more about how I ended up here later. Right now I would like to dive into my professional background and what stired me in the direction of the Gaming Industry.

Seattle Art Institute

Growing up I always had a passion for art. In school I was always the one in the back doodling from my imagination. After I graduated from high school I wanted to do something with my talent. I decided to find a college that would allow me to shine. The Seattle Art Institute was just that college. Finally, I had an outlet for my talent. Their I sharped my skills but not knowing what for. Then one dayI visited Nintendo and had an epiphany. This is what I want to do, this is what's to come of my future. At that moment I poured everything I got into game design. My hard work paid off and was hired right out of the gate!

The Game Industry

Not knowing the way the game industry works, I was very fortunate that Looking Glass Studios took me under their wing. They saw that I had raw talent and was hungry to get my hands dirty. Immediately they through me in the mix and I started to work on Destruction Derby 64. At first they had me modeling and texturing all the cars. That branched out to complete environment design. Then they noticed that I have a knack for developing logos so I created all of the level logos. That branched of to UI design, multiple other game concepts, soundtrack, and more.

Unfortunately the door's closed to the studio but within a couple of days a new door opened, KnowWonder welcomed me with open arms. At this point, the game industry was transitioning to the new console platforms (XBOX ~ PS2). They had me work on multiple titles there, modeling and texturing.

At this point, as much as I loved the gaming industry and the creative atmosphere, I was missing my family. It was just to far to keep traveling back and forth 8 hours at a time. I made the decision to pack my life up and head to Southern Oregon.

Southern Oregon

Southern Oregon has been good to me. It's a slower lifestyle then the hustle of Seattle. I enjoy the outdoors, camping, hiking, snowboarding, etc.

I've been working with Personalized Software now for over 13 years (I think!). I'm currently the Director of Marketing for the company. Everything that has to do with the corporate identity, I do. Websites, magazine ads, postcards, brochures, business cards, trade shows, online presence, you name it and I do it.

So that's me in a nutshell. Hope I didn't bore you to death. Now get over to my portfolio dig into some good stuff!
